The Idea

   Have you ever been nervous or uneasy about trying something new? Something that you may have thought, "Can I really do this?". Well, that's me right now! I am a brand-spanking new blogger, and I have no idea how this is going to go, but since we're here, I may as well introduce myself. My name is Nohemi (pronounced no - Emmy, like No Emmy award for me, but my friends call me Omie), and I am a sunny, hurricane-prone Florida native. 

  My parents are both from Colombia 🤓 Despite growing up in the city, Horses and the simple country life was something I daydreamed about every day of my life. Just the idea of living off your land, enjoying the fruits of your hard work, and being surrounded by nature was the life I wanted to have. Fast forward some years, I am happily married and live in an area that has more nature than highways, so I'm heading in the right direction. 

 Now, why start blogging? Well, I was laid off a couple of months ago, and it has been nothing short of sucky! Browsing for open positions, applying to countless jobs, calling, emailing, and following up - it just became a never-ending cycle of frustration.  I'd constantly see articles and job positions for freelance writers and blogging. To be honest, I had thought about blogging several years ago, but I just didn't quite understand it. The difference now is that I'd rather do something for myself, something I love,  and share what I love with others.

 That brings us to the idea of starting a blog and just letting things take its course. Savvy Finds by Omie is designed to help anyone interested in enjoying the little things without the big price tag. Perhaps you want that beautiful, supple leather couch but can't find something in your price range, or you discover you have expensive taste in clothes, but there's no way you can afford it (literally me). How about the never-ending house projects you want to do, but the ideas sound expensive in your head? This is where the savvy finds come in, you know, the good quality gems you find that keep you within your budget while giving you the look and feel you've always wanted. Whether it's home furniture, home decor, home designs, fashion, outfit ideas, and the like, I am here for you!
