As Floridians, we don't get a lot of extreme cold weather. This winter is the longest cold weather has ever lasted, and most days have been plenty cold, even for snow-bird standards. So what have I been doing? As many have surely done, I've dug into my closet to see what warm clothes I have, and I have to say, I am grateful for my thrift and Shein finds! Seriously though, I have many winter clothes, boots, and accessories for a Floridian; I just LOVE winter fashion! The long trench coats, the winter boots, the wool hats, I can go on!
But, like most things in this day and age, winter apparel can be expensive, especially good quality things that will last and that you'll actually wear more than once (let's be real, sometimes we buy things and never end up wearing them - my truth, anyway). So, what are pieces that I have found to be high quality, affordable, and timelessly stylish? Here are some of my most recent picks to feature in today's blog post!

Literally, everything you see in this collage board is in my closet, and they are STAPLE items in my winter fashion collection that I have worn, mixed, matched, and, most importantly, have kept me comfortable and warm on top of saving me money!
Okay, the boots! These boots are comfortable over-the-knee boots that can also be folded down so it's a little below the knee as well - basically 2 boot styles in the same pair! They are very comfortable for all-day use; I purchased these last year for our New York trip in November, and they withstood the miles of walking all over the city. Not to mention, they can be worn literally anywhere and paired with jeans, slacks, skirts, or dresses! Check them out:

The next item on the list is the plaid skirt. You know it's wintertime when you see all the plaid rolling out, and this skirt is a MUST! She is warm, she can be paired with many different top colors, and did I mention she has amazing pockets?! I have worn this skirt, and I can tell you it's perfect for ANYTHING: a nice chilly date night, office wear, a meeting, school, or just because you are in the mood to be cute in plaid. You have to give her a chance!

Another favorite feature for me is the colors: there's the neutral khaki/cream color with some dark navy blue and a subtle hint of off-white; these are neutral colors that, although combined here, go well with a white turtle neck, a light baby blue long-sleeve, a nice autumn orange or brown top, even a red, warm top would look adorable!
Then, there's my personal favorite: that overcoat!!! This one pictured is, unfortunately, out of stock for the moment, BUT I have comparable options that are just as beautiful, functional, and affordable! Take this one, for example,
https://onelink.shein.com/7/4c7w4goxisei. Like, I'm sorry, but hello??? Are we not obsessed with this look? The versatility alone is attractive, not to mention the double-breasted closure, the waist belt, and the REAL pockets!!! It is a pet peeve of mine when there are nice-looking coats, but they have fake pockets. Why? Why even make those? And, let's not forget the NEUTRAL color, this beautiful beige, that can go with any color, any pattern. Another excellent option is this beauty:

quality and
functionality you are getting with either one of them!

And lastly, no outfit can truly be complete without its accessories. In this case, the wool scarf. For no reason, and certainly for no need, I have a whole collection of scarves - again, I'm a Native Floridian. Literally, no reason for me to have this many scarves, but that's not the point! This wool scarf
https://onelink.shein.com/7/4c7wc8vbikrs is perfection! The one I have is the same plaid one you see on the collage board in the beginning, and I am obsessed! It is super warm, very cozy, long, and can be styled to be worn as a shawl. Just yesterday morning, I wore it while doing errands. We live close to the water, and something about that humid cold air just hits differently - it sticks to your bones, but this scarf was a game-changer! There are many different colors to choose from; I chose the plaid pattern, but this white one is just as beautiful, warm, and affordable! I'll include the plaid one as well here:
